Hello everyone, as allways I know long time no post, but I have been ubber busy and blogging/updating news as been the last thing on my mind…
BERLENGA CQ7OA 2010
I went to Berlenga Island!! and survived… We had an amazing time there, we where a 7 man crew, we logged a record breaking numbers of QSO’s from that location, operating lot’s of bands and modes, I did mostly 15 meters with my TS50, but also had major fun on 20m and 6m, all ssb… We had a great team on CW, top notch operators. From the time I left home to the airport, the 2 hour flight, a stay at my Frind Jorge’s CT1FMX house and all the friends I met and going the boat ride, 4 days in paradise (term used loosely) GREAT RADIO, then everything coming back I was tired but pleased, TY all for making my trip so good.

TOWER
I have been working hard in putting up my tower, mind you this was not a bought tower but in the great spirit of ham radio, it was all donation, side’s from here, bolts from there, welds by friend, and so forth, and not just the tower the hole, the cement and so forth all aid from fellow hams, just to name a few: Pedro CU3DI as been relenteless in all his help, Paulo Melo CU3CC, Xaninho CU3FA, these have been the moving force behind my tower build.
The tower as of today stands at 33 feet, I have painted the reamaning 10 feet wich will make tower height 43 feet, shall go up in a week, the total antenna height will be 50 feet, (insert Smiley CU3HY here).

CR200IQC is the callsign used to comemorate the 200th aniversary of the “Império dos Quatro Cantos”, an Azorean Chapel in honor of the Holly Ghost.

Cult to the “Espirito Santo” The holy ghost
Instituted for the Queen Isabel of Aragon still in the Average Age, this cult was developed considerably in the Azores, arriving with the first settlers and changedding themselves into the most important popular party, that through brotherhoods, is present in practically all the population accumulations, fortifying the communitarian bows.
Here and there, it are of any share of the Catolic Church, had risen the “Empires”, species of chapels where if they placed the crowns. Constructed to the rock and whitewash in the places of worship, the Empires consist of a small one square of thirty square meters, having to the center a door and window and in the interior an altar with a throne. In the front, is risen in chapel form of, accumulating with a rock crown and has in the spandrel a dove of rock in relief, with the legend Glory to the “The holy ghost”.
Yes I know, long time no post…
Sorry about that, I have been quite busy, what with activations, as you can check on the new page CU3HY/P, but also with erecting a new tower, mind you when a say a new tower I do mean an old tower, a ham-me-down, as opposed to a hand-me-down. So far I have dug out the bottom, this week I should be cementing the whole thing, then its a matter of waiting a few weeks…
I sold my FT-857D, to a fellow ham friend, CU3GQ, now I am a bit “radio-less”, I am looking hard for a small, can be old HF radio to go on my activations as CU3HY/P, but so far it’s been hard to find one that is cheap, sold my 857 because I needed the cash, unfortunately one cannot make an omelet without cracking some eggs…
Also I have a new qsl card, a very nice professionally made qsl card!!

Now I am expecting another qsl card for my portable operations CU3HY/P, that one should come in this week.
Another piece of information I am very proud to anounce is that I got invited to go to on a four day DXpedition to Berlenga Island, off the coast of Portugal, now mind you this is off mainland Portugal, so it means a 2 hour plane ride for me and then an hour boat ride, I’m very excited about this one, it will be from June 10th thru 13th, alltouhgt I will be flying out on June 7th to mainland, this means that most likely before I go on the big expedition some smaller ones might happen, the invite was made by my DX group manager, CT1FMX from the OESTE DX GANG, thank you Jorge for the vote of confidence.
